The Green Bay Packers ，a vocatonal American football team , are located in Green Bay, Wisconsin. They compete in the ND(Northern Division) of the NFC (National Football Conference )in the NFL and also are the third-oldest franchise in the NFL.
They are the last relique of "small town teams" . This “smll town teams” were once common in the NFL from 1920s to 1930s. Set up in 1919 by Earl "Curly" Lambeau and George Whitney Calhoun, the team can trace their lineage to other semi-professional teams in Green Bay. In 1919 - 1920 as a semi-professional football team, they palyed against clubs from around Wisconsin and the Midwest. In 1921 they became a member of the APFA(American Professional Football Association), the harbinger to what is known today as the NFL(National Football League).
In 1967,1968 and 1997,the Green Bay Packers have gained 12 league championships, including 9 NFL Championships berfore the SB(Super Bowl)era and 3 SB triumphs. The team has a fierce rivalship with the CB(Chicago Bears). They have played with CB in more than one hundred and seventy games. Moreover,they also share in a historical rivalship with the MV(Minnesota Vikings), who live in the north of NFC with the Packers, and the DC(Dallas Cowboys ) are known as the Packers largest playoff competitors from the perspective of history after the Packers triumphed over them in the famous IB( Ice Bowl).
The Packers are the only non-profit and community-owned major league vocational sports team in USA. To start with the 1992 season, they had thirteen non-losing seasons in a row, two SB(Super Bowl) appearances, and one SB win. Their thirteen successive non-losing seasons were an active NFL record until in their 2005 season the team finally suffered from a losing campaign. They went back to have an eight to eight season in 2006 and a thirteen to three regular season in 2007, both of which are under new head coach MM( Mike McCarthy).
